  •         If the heat is gradually added to the cold side of the module, the particular side temperature would increase until the heat sink temperature is regulated. During this time the thermoelectric cooler would have gained its maximum rated heat pumping capacity.

  •         Both the mechanical refrigerators and the thermoelectric cooler are operated by the same fundamental laws of refrigeration systems and thermodynamics.

  •          In a mechanical refrigeration unit, a compressor increases the pressure of a liquid and circulates the refrigerant via the system.


  •          When the electric current is passed via a conductor having a temperature gradient over its length, the heat will be either expelled from the conductor or absorbed by it.

  •         Whether the heat is expelled or absorbed, the function of the cooler entirely depends upon the direction of both the temperature gradient and the electric current. This phenomenon is regarded to be the Thomson effects.
